ST. EFISIO
Every year since 1652 people from all over Sardinia come to the town of Cagliari to celebrate St. Efisio. Efisio was a roman soldier who was executed because of his Christian faith. In 1652, Cagliari authorities vowed to St. Efisio that they would hold a yearly procession if he helped spare them from the plague that was raging all over Europe at the time. The plagued did end.
